Dhaka Stocks Market continue gaining in the current week
The Benchmark index of Dhaka
Stock Exchange (DSE) kept moving on an upward curve on Tuesday, with the
highest turnover in two and a half months with new hope of bull trend. The DSE general index closed at 4939 points
with a gain of 75 points following fluctuations with highest turnover of the
last tow and
half months. Of the traded shares and mutual funds, prices of 139
advanced, 107 declined and 20 remained unchanged showing bull dominating trend.
The turnover was Tk 7250 million, which was Tk 610 million more than Sunday's and
last half an hour 110 crore. Trading was closed on Monday because of the Independence
Day as national holyday. After a rise in share prices last week, trading on DSE
opened this week on an upbeat note, gaining 104 points leading power and IT
sector. Sunday's turnover was the
highest in past two and a half months and indicates market participant are
becoming active after a massive fall of the market index. The DGEN rose 215
points or 4.75 percent last week of this month. The average daily turnover was
Tk 4760 million, which was 86 percent higher than that of the previous week
showing a up trend. In the week before, the index had gained 198 points or 57
percent and continuing the trend.
